Carcara's Group - Social Media Web Tools

According our own reality, we can say that Google tools are less used by brazilian students than social media web tools. From this perspective, brazilian students, specific Paraiba ones, have more access to social network, such as Facebook and WhatsApp. This technological and interactive tools can be used to promote an interaction among the students and the teachers, as well.
The students are pretty involved to social networks nowadays. They are always creating groups to share scholarly documents by themselves. And we believe that is can really be a good way to even create a virtual classroom in which they are able to study together as a discussion group or sending audios, videos or having extra explanation about some important subject points. Additionally, teachers can use these web tools to integrate the enrolled professionals in pedagogical planning and activities, such as combined interdisciplinary classes.
As the students are more familiarized to the use of this kind of social network - for example, through the creation of Facebook groups or pages -, this is a   good way to get their attention to pedagogical aims.. Groups are more suitable for discussion and active media sharing, including the students in the process, while pages are better to regular sharing by the teachers. Both tools can be complementary, because pages can support the groups with materials.
