As Tapiocas

  • Who are we?

We are Anderlane, Daniela, Ketlen, Monique and Vilma Raquel. We are teachers from different places in Paraiba.

  • What is a tapioca?

It is a Northeast typical food, the principal ingredient is cassava flour what is extracted from “macaxeira” root (in the Southeast of Brazil is called “mandioca”). It is made of sweet and salt flavours, but you can also have the two flavours inside the same “tapioca”. You can add cheese, coconut, butter, banana, condensed milk, meat, and others.

  • Why did we choose this name?

We have chosen this name because it is a strong, typical and simple Brazilian food from the Northeast in Brazil from where we came.

  • Our slogan is:  “Together we are getting stronger”.

The work of how to prepare the “tapioca” food in Brazil, it is, in most of the time, made  by women, and shows the power and how strong the women are in the Northeast. Like our group, formed by five women, before getting in Giramundo Finland, each one, was just more one female teacher from Brazil, but here in Finland, after we met each other, we have noticed that we have many things in common, we have the same desire to learn as much as possible, to share new experiences and to become better and stronger as teachers and even as human beings.
